'Helga'

I was inspired by the English Cocker Spaniel and Afghan Hound breeds to paint Helga. My 'Best In Show' collection consists of original acrylic canine portraits. I am fascinated by dog breeds; their fur patterns, colors, physical attributes and personalities. Being a dog lover, I suppose I was bound to finally set aside time to paint dogs. Though I have completed many commissioned dog portraits, I felt that it would be immensely more enjoyable if I could paint a breed that I'd never seen before, by browsing photos of several breeds and combining physical appearances through my paintings. Maybe in my own way I was ''breeding'' through painting! I especially enjoyed ''naming'' each one.
